There will be a slew of geocosmic signatures unfolding August 21 through September 2. Several of these signatures involve Jupiter and Neptune. Over 2 Million Affected by Monsoon Rains, Flooding in Pakistan Heavy monsoon rains and flooding have reportedly affected over 2 million people in Pakistan's southern Sindh and eastern Punjab provinces. Local meteorological department predicts more rains in the days ahead, posing a threat to more people in the country.
The National Disaster Management Authority says over 200,000 people have been affected in flood-hit areas in interior Sindh. Media quoted the authority as saying 100 villages were flooded in Badin district of Sindh after a breach in a major salinity drain. As a result of the flooding, people have in some cases been left marooned and have to be evacuated by Navy boats.
Pakistan's biggest eastern Punjab province was also affected by monsoon rains and flooding, according to officials. Flooding of the Sutlej river has inundated several villages in Kasur District, Punjab Province.
Syed Arshad Hussain, the district coordination officer for Kasur, a city on the eastern side of Punjab bordering India, said that relief centers have been set up in eight locations and the authorities are making all other arrangements to help the affected people. He also said an assessment of needs was under way.
There is also a flood threat in other areas of Punjab, where several drainage channels have overflowed. Punjab Natural Disaster Management Authority head Khalid Sher said that emergency has been declared in parts of Sialkot District while agricultural land had been flooded in the Daska administrative unit of the district.

The Fifth night of the Ninth wave by Carl Calleman The Fifth Night of the Ninth Wave starts as of August 18th of 2011 and many are wondering what this energy will carry. When we look back at history the fifth night usually appears as a very destructive time period and this naturally adds drama to the interest. Typically, the Fifth night means a ¨dark age¨ with some kind of destruction and without exception it has meant a sharp economic decline. It is however never entirely true to talk about an energy in the Mayan calendar as exclusively being destructive or constructive, because similarly to how the god Shiva among the Hindus is both the creator and destroyer all calendrical energies carry both aspects and the destructiveness is there to give room for something new to be created. For us who are living in this momentous end time what is important is to be able to grasp the most relevant information from the Mayan calendar and not get stuck in simplistic labels. As part of its self-described "OpBART" campaign, Anonymous hacked into the BART website, myBart.org, and leaked the names, phone numbers and passwords of train passengers. "We’re information activists just trying to make our world a bit freer and a little better," says X. New NASA research points to possible HAARP connection in Japan earthquake, tsunami Recent data released by Dimitar Ouzounov and colleagues from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland highlights some strange atmospheric anomalies over Japan just days before the massive earthquake and tsunami struck on March 11. Seemingly inexplicable and rapid heating of the ionosphere directly above the epicenter reached a maximum only three days prior to the quake, according to satellite observations, suggesting that directed energy emitted from transmitters used in the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) may have been responsible for inducing the quake.

Darkest exoplanet spotted by astronomers A dark alien world, blacker than coal, has been spotted by astronomers.
The Jupiter-sized planet is orbiting its star at a distance of just five million km, and is likely to be at a temperature of some 1200C.

Bend breakthrough sends light around a corner (PhysOrg.com) -- Australian National University scientists have successfully bent light beams around an object on a two dimensional metal surface, opening the door to faster and cheaper computer chips working with light.
The international team, including three members from the Research School of Physics and Engineering at ANU, have successfully demonstrated that a tiny beam of light on a flat surface can be bent around an obstacle, and course-correct itself on the other side of that obstacle. Yellowtail moth invasion leads to curfew in French Guiana August 11, 2011 – Cayenne, French Guiana (AFP) – An invasion of Yellowtail moths that cause a form of dermatitis known as the Caripito itch has led the authorities in a region of French Guiana to impose a nighttime curfew. The affected region is Sinnamary, located 110 kilometres (68 miles) west of the French overseas territory’s capital Cayenne.
Since the start of July, public lighting has been switched off at dusk, shops closed and residents told to stay indoors, in the dark and under mosquito nets, the authorities said. The Yellowtail moth — Hylesia Metabus — is found mainly in mangrove swamps but they swarm to lights in nearby towns between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
“The female moths release thousands of microscopic urticating hairs that cause severe itching,” the local health authority said. The hairs used by the female moths to protect their eggs from predators can cause cutaneous conditions in humans. “The light produced by a television set is enough to draw the moths into homes,” Barbara Thomas, a local restaurant owner, told AFP. “I’ve been closed every evening for a month now,” she said, complaining that the infestation had hit French Guiana’s economy badly at the peak of the tourist season. At the nearby international space centre in Kourou, the base used to launch Russian Soyouz rockets has set up light traps to fight the swarming moths, local engineer Claude Berteaud said. Sinnamary residents staged a march on July 29 to demand the authorities eradicate the moths. A committee was formed to tackle the problem and consider measures such as spraying the swamps during the moths’ reproductive period. –

TEPCO says it has lost contact with 143 nuclear plant workers TOKYO — Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said Thursday that it has not been able to locate 143 individuals working to restore the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant since May. The utility said it has no idea if the 143 have been exposed to radiation and to what level.
According to a report from TEPCO given to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, TEPCO hired many of the workers through subcontractors from all over Japan for limited periods and kept no records of their addresses. On any given day, TEPCO said it has had up to 1,000 workers on rotating schedules at the stricken power plant.
Asahi Geino reported in May that subcontractors were hiring day laborers to work at the plant. The daily remuneration was three times that of regular day jobs if within the grounds of the reactor complex, and 1.5 times higher if within the wider area now restricted due to high radioactivity.
While safety measures are in place to keep workers’ daily exposure to radiation within safe levels, claims for compensation due to sickness from overexposure are unlikely to be paid out, the magazine reported.

The technique, they say, could give biologists "atom-by-atom control" over the molecules in living organisms.
