Maybe things will get calmer next week, as Venus (ruler of Libra) continues her sojourn through Libra until October 9. Usually that passage is favorable for stocks (and not so favorable for precious metals). But the week is unlikely to start out very calm, given the way the U.S. stock markets sold off into the close, and more so given that Mars will form a square Jupiter at the start of the week on Monday. Remember: periods in which Mars, Jupiter and/or Uranus are in aspect to one another tend to coincide with large price swings. We are in one of those periods now. Another point to remember is that new and full moons when the Sun is in Libra can coincide with very important reversals. The high of the past week was on Tuesday, September 27, the exact day of the new moon. The full moon follows on October 11, just before the extremely volatile period of heliocentric Mercury transiting through Sagittarius takes place (October 15-27). And interestingly enough, that ends just as the super-volatile yearly opposition of the Sun and Jupiter takes place on October 28.
If these markets don’t find some ground to stand on by the middle of this week, it could a rough ride through the end of the month. But Jupiter forms a trine to Pluto then too, so reforms are coming. Let’s hope these reforms produce better outcomes for consumers than the “unintended consequences” of the banking reforms now being realized through the efforts of the Dodd-Frank bill passed last year. Wasn’t that act passed during a Mercury retrograde period? Weren’t all the problematic federal acts of the last year passed during a Mercury retrograde time band? I don’t think it is a cosmic coincidence that next year’s election will also take place just as Mercury begins its retrograde motion too.

WAXAHACHIE, Texas — A fire official says a massive blaze at a plant south of Dallas was sparked as workers mixed chemicals
Fire Chief David Hudgins says he's not sure what chemicals were involved in the fire that broke out before 11 a.m. Monday at a Magnablend, Inc., facility in Waxahachie, located about 30 miles south of Dallas. No serious injuries were reported.
Hudgins says the fire should be brought under control by late afternoon and that about 1,000 evacuated residents should be allowed to return to their homes.

The hypocrisy of MoveOn.org seizing control of a protest movement dubbed ‘Occupy Wall Street’ is staggering. MoveOn.org “endorsed Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic Party primaries, fundraised and organized for him, and has become perhaps the lead lobby organization for his policies,” reports SourceWatch.
The organization is also strongly supported by billionaire George Soros, with Soros having donated around $5 million dollars to the group in recent years.

BOSTON - Google News, which has long relied on automation to deliver news content from countless providers, has announced a twist in its algorithm: It will now recognize "featured" content among the tens of thousands of stories it delivers every day.
Google announced Saturday that news organizations can now add "standout" metadata tags to stories they're proudest of — like exclusives, scoops and investigative projects — and the U.S. edition of Google News will consider including a "featured" label with the story on its news homepage and in search results. There's no guarantee a story tagged this way will be featured, but Google's algorithm will factor the tag into its decisions, the company said.
"We can showcase that standout piece of journalism in Google News by putting a 'featured' label in front of it," said Google News product specialist David Smydra, who announced the new option at the Online News Association conference in Boston. "And that featured label will help that article persist while other news organizations are following and developing their coverage on that story."
There will be such a thing as too much self-promotion. If a news provider puts the standout tag on more than seven stories in a week, the algorithm won't factor it in as much, or may ignore it entirely, Google says.

The ignorance displayed in these interviews knows no bounds. The protesters just don’t get it. Corporations and government enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship – getting one to regulate the other is asinine and only hurts smaller businesses who are legitimately trying to compete in a free market economy that barely exists.

One sign being carried around read, “A government is an entity which holds the monopolistic right to initiate force,” which seems a little ironic when protesters complain about being physically assaulted by police in the same breath.

Breaking – More Police Assaults And Mass Arrests Of Mile Long Crowd Of #OccupyWallStreet Protestors Happening live as I write, NYPD police officers have launched new round of mass arrests and brutal assaults against Occupy Wall street protestors. I have watched over 20 people get arrested live so far. Reports say up to 300 have been arrested after the police tricked protestors into splitting up and directed them in the direction of the Brooklyn Bridge as part of Crowd dispersal techniques. NY Times reporter Colin Moynihan reported his colleague, freelance reporter working for The Times, Natasha Lennard was arrested.
Both sides of the Brooklyn Bridge have been closed off as the line of protestors stretch from end to end. From the west side of the Brooklyn Bridge the line is reported to stretch all the way back to liberty park. There is also a second line stretching back toward city hall, were protestors approached before but the gates were closed to prevent a shut down like the scene reminiscent of Egypt that occurred at NYPD headquarters yesterday. Once diverted from city hall toward the Brooklyn Bridge, protestors had planned on regrouping at Brooklyn Bridge Park but after the bridge filled with protestors, police blocked off both sides. The police are now making there way across the bridge arresting on person at a time and hauling them off in a patty wagon.
While the police led the crowd onto the bridge only to arrest them, they will use the justification the crowd was blocking traffic. They only problem is the NY Times reporter arrested for the crowd already put out the word that the police directed and aloud the crowd to go that way. The question is will the media lie for the NYPD or tell the truth?

Several beekeepers in the county have reported lost colonies this week. Charles Smith of Smith Family Honey Company told Stuart News Thursday he lost 400 beehives. He says the bees appeared to have been poisoned.
“I’ll never get completely compensated for this unless someone handed me 400 beehives,” Smith told Stuart News. “I lost the bees, the ability to make honey and the ability to sell the bees.”

Chardonnay, Sean and Lisa Lavau appeared on NBC's "Today" show Friday, describing how they found their father's car and his makeshift camp in a ravine Thursday off Lake Hughes Road in the Angeles National Forest, a rugged landscape lying between metropolitan Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert.
Another vehicle was found nearby, but its driver did not survive the crash and authorities don't know if they are dealing with one crash or two, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Mark Savage. The accident investigation was turned over to the California Highway Patrol.

On the heels of near record-setting heat on Wednesday, forecasters with the National Weather Service say the first winter-like storm of the system is expected to hit the Bay Area early next week. The strongest and coldest system is expected to reach the region by Wednesday, dropping as much as a quarter-inch of rain.
The rainy weather is arriving about three weeks normal than usual.
"Typically we see our first rains around Halloween or the World Series," said Steve Anderson, a forecaster with the weather service.

The White House has opened up a new section on their website called "We the People," which allows citizens to post a petition about a matter they want the White House to address. If the petition obtains a certain number of signatures within a given time period, the White House says they will review the issue and make an official response. I was outside walking my dogs around 11:48 PM and saw what I first thought was a shooting star. I kept watching it and it got brighter and orange in color. It had a tail that turned a greenish/whitish color as it crossed the sky over the trees. What did I see??? -Autum Pylant Thank you Autum!

I live in Hazleton Pa. and at appox 11:49 pm in the sky looking north I saw a hugh ball of blue green with a silver and orange trail I yelled into the kids I just saw a falling star then thinking that was hugh it had to be a meteor. I live in Nepean, Ontario, a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario Canada. At about 11:45 p.m. EST on September 25, 2011, I took my dog out for a walk in front of my house, which overlooks an empty field. As I was standing across the street with my dog, I observed a very bright green fireball fall from the sky to the south east. It fell in a completely straight trajectory and lasted about 5 seconds before it appeared to reduce to sparks/cinders. I am unsure if this was a meteor as I don't recall hearing any news releases about meteor showers for this time of year. Anyways, I thought you might be interested. Saturday updates from Nugget shooting, Street Vibratons shut down SPARKS, Nev. — One person has been killed and two others wounded in a shooting at a hotel-casino in Sparks that witnesses say involved members of rival motorcycle gangs, the Vagos and Hells Angels.
Sparks police confirmed the fatal shooting at John Ascuaga’s Nugget about 11:30 p.m. Friday but they have not identified any of the people involved.
Daniel Sharp of Stockton, Calif., told the Reno Gazette-Journal he was in the dance area at the Nugget for the Street Vibrations biker festival when a group of Vagos club members came in.
He says a single Hells Angel then entered, soon followed by several more. Within five minutes he says a fight erupted and shots rang out.
