Capricorn weighs heavy on wealth and values
It has been known throughout the ages that the new moon is when solar-spiritual emanations are released as seed ideas. One reason that it is a propitious time to devise, formulate and eventually initiate new projects. This new moon holds the promise of opening the door to opportunity and advancement with Capricorn the sign of advancement and perseverance so prominently placed. So if we pay attention, that cappy sea-goat can help us organize and help those seeds germinate and take root to sprout and even flower by the time full moon arrives. Unfortunately many of us on the West Coast have been battered with multiple storms (Saturn/Cancer and Uranus/Pisces mean lots of water) during the waning cycle. In some cases the emotional flowing waters have circumvented our active pursuit of new endeavors. Now that the dark of the moon has passed and the Capricorn new moon is in full swing, some of these previous ideas are heading for the light.
In fact, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (moon in Capricorn) took aim today at what he called "the lunacy of the state budget system." The Governator's emotions and nurturing energy (moon) sit in this lunation chart's 2nd house or that area dealing with the conditions of supply and demand. In mundane Astrology, the 2nd house represents banks, stock markets, the economy in general and consumer spending. If we add yesterday's ingress of mercury/venus to the Sun/Moon and Chiron in capricorn, there is a lot of weight on Saturn or Cronos - the Lord of Karma or the Cosmic Taskmaster. So even though we have a desire to act on those cardinal impulses, Saturn the ruler says stop, limit be thrifty and be prudent or we lose. Arnie's proposed budget will directly put the brakes on the SF Bay Area spending.
From this lunation chart we see that Saturn sits authoritatively in the 8th house where California's deficit, shrinking pension plans, taxes, foreign investment and multinational or transnational corporations that have all been under pressure. Two events reflect this tightening: (2)The recent purchase of the PCX (Pacific Stock Exchange on Montgomery Street) by Archipelago Holdings Inc. on January 5th 2005. Will Boxing Day Doom gets lost in banality?
A fortnight has passed since the Boxing Day Tsunami just prior to the last full moon. Somehow that previous description: Boxing Day seems to make light of the biggest cataclysm in modern history. After all those in Europe and Australia called it "Boxing Day" because, traditionally, the day after Christmas is "when we repackage all our unwanted presents in their boxes and take them back to the shops who have just started their New Year sales." Despite such a trivial title, an alternate wave of compassion been growing in response to the Dec. 26th tragedy. Now with this new moon, we are just beginning to to grasp the seriousness of Gaia's message. A realization is upon us that according to the Mayan Dreamspell date, this is Blue Crystal Storm Year (inception July 26, 04). The Blue Crystal Storm has brought hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons and tsunamis. Yet we are forgetting that even with messages steeped in earth changes, the opportunity to provide the powers of cooperation, universalization, and self-generation!
Media Seeks Salacious Stories but Responsible Capricorn Says No Way
Over 150,000 people have perished with the death toll rising everyday and yet the US corporate media is trying to seize their own version of opportunity and move on to other topics. Again Capricorn steps up the plate for responsible journalism with that Mercury/Venus conjunction. The new president of CNN, Jonathan Klein, announced last week that Crossfire has been canceled and "the bow-tie toadie" Tucker Carlson is moving to MSNBC. It took a Sagittarian Comedian, Jon Stewart of The Daily Show as a guest on the Crossfire program during the presidential campaign to level the boom on media deception. Stewart said that ranting partisan political shows on cable were "hurting America." 
The media machine is sitting up and taking notice of Jon (born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz) whose Venus/Neptune Scorpio curently squares Neptune/Juno in Aquarius. More appropriately that pendulous tide is swinging against the
media bias outlets like Fox News and Bully Bill O'Reilly who prefers to fight with actor George Clooney over what will happen to funds pledged in a telethon for tsunami victims. Even the journalistic whores ready to jump on the January 20th inaugeration bandwagon of King GW Bush will be under public scrutiny by the independent media - Neptune/Aquarius. With Saturn driving the ship, the big stories will be the estimated $50 million spent on Emperor Bush's ceremony and the contrived war in Iraq costing American's around $4Billion a month!
We are even finding a serious tone in the gossip articles about the Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston breakup or John Stewart's book being banned by Missisippi library. With Brad there is good reason since in his chart has cap written all over it View Chart: Moon/Venus/Mercury and Mars all in Capricorn. Yes and Jennifer has Saturn/Venus in Aries to create an active Cardinal square creating multiple relationship problems.
With this new moon, media better forget those former dalliances with blatant sensationalism and trivial pursuit as earthy Capricorn pushes our security buttons. Even the Golden State can't stay in denial too much longeer as relentless rains have begin to create mudslides of mammoth proportions in Southern California. We need help. This interminable rain reflects watery Saturn in Cancer and can only soak our brain cortex for so long. Some of us may want to embrace the eternal sunshine of sparkling memories, don't forget that Saturn stays in Cancer the sign ruling memories till August 2005. It is doubtful that we will be able to forget with Saturn in opposition to both the Sun/Moon and Chiron that wounded healer asking for us to encompass the necessary healing before moving forward.
Justice, balance of power and innovative expression
Since September 22nd when Jupiter entered Libra, the national envelope is being pushed and prodded regarding just and fair elections, alliances and equal relationships. On a Jupiter day last thursday, the Bay Area's own Barbara Boxer got the House and Senate to call for a recess of their joint session as required by law. These bastions of cronyism had to literally stop and hold separate debates on the Ohio irregularities - Way to Go Barbara. In this new moon chart, Jupiter (expansion) is found in 11th house of community and trines Neptune (ideal images) who is joined by Juno (Asteroid Goddess who represents women's rights and the balance of power). Juno is in independent Aquarius who requires freedom, new forms of relationships and role reversals. Undoubtedly we will hear more about high profile couples unexpectedly going their separate ways and the equal representation of same sex relationships under the law. Besides Neptune that mystic,glamour hound and shape-shifter, we also have Uranus sitting in the 3rd house of this Lunation. Uranus Squaring Mars was the trigger for the huge oceanic waves that drenched over 12 countries. Uranus/Pisces (planet of sudden shock meeting the sea) is in Pisces in the 3rd House. In mundane Astrology the 3rd house represents all methods of transportation and communications. With Aquarius on the 3rd house cusp our minds may are on innovative ways to bring about cooperation via community vison and action. Undoubtedly all those things ruled by the 3rd. house will be subject to unexpected changes even erratic: this includes roads, railways, telephones, schools, newspapers, television. As this new moon day comes to a conclusion, all the fingerprints of Aquarius are on this internet oriented story: Soldiers download war onto Web sites
Postings range from family communication to graphic battle images This will bring controversy to the forefront and it should be noted that the visual displays or images are part of Uranus/Pisces domain where Neptune rules images. Sabian and Mayan Symbols tells of group opportunity to bring community

Blue Spectral Hand asks us to dissolve our fears and embrace the energy of liberation (Neptune/uranus mutual reception). This day is all about setting the tone for accomplishment or success by letting god/goddess and letting go. Remember no matter how phenomenal we are alone, when we practice as a community our light and strength are more then doubled together.
